Designers often place mirrors strategically in small places in order to make them feel larger. One of the most common small living room ideas is to hang a large mirror in a central location to create a focal point. To reflect light and add a nice ambiance, put it behind a light source such as a candle or pendant lamp. If possible, position a mirror across from your window so it will reflect the view and give the illusion of another window.
It depends upon the space that is at your disposal. When styling larger rooms, use of space is crucial. Strategic use of carpets, furniture and decoration can create spacious, balanced rooms that are a pleasure to spend time in. When dealing with cosier living rooms, it`s all about giving the impression of space. Select clever colour schemes for the walls, add textures with bricks or tiles, and find the right balance of furnishings to create somewhere that is relaxing but not cluttered. You can also fine-tune the mood created by the room—from exciting, vivid colours and decorations to cool, pastel tones that relax the mind. It`s up to the desires of the person styling the room. This is a vital question for creating the right atmosphere and mood. A living room is a space where people will spend plenty of time, so it makes sense to find exactly the right mood. For smaller rooms, white walls or pastel tones will be appropriate, Anything bolder can create a cramped impression. However, in larger living room designs, your creativity can run riot, with vivid colours and patterns. It all depends upon the style that is being implemented.
Particularly when it comes to flooring, wood, stone and slate are very popular choices. However, not everybody sees the attraction of using these materials in their homes, preferring the comfort, warmth, noise reduction and improved insulation offered by carpet.
